I don't believe in resolutions. not that 'they are meant to be broken' and all such overused retorts that the non-believers keep handy. i think resolutions are obstructive, quite the contrary to focusing. more often than not, they tell you what not to do than what you should. they tell you not to smoke, not to do weed (at least for a month), not to fall asleep in class during lectures (at least for a week. Be high on the New Year spirit!), not to forget that she hates strawberry and preferred vanilla (at least for a day, for chrissake!!!). Every single resolution I see around me, stops people from doing what they love or enjoy. hence, the resolved decisions are hated by February, broken in April, guilty till July and forgotten by September.
(or did I take too much time?)
This will not be a long post. This is just a simple testimony of the fact that I made a resolution and kept it.
I now finally, have a blog.
What's the big deal, you ask? every Tom-Dick-Harry-Amitabh-Aamir-Yuvraj has one today. well, I never really felt I needed to blog (now that it is almost a verb...) but today, it is the closest you can get to actual publishing. So here I am at the beginning of all blogging beginnings, wishing everyone who will read this, a very well-written and well-edited 2011. may words flow and happiness be served in generous helpings. cheers to millions of unnecessary discussions, thousands of arguments and hundereds of gossip hours because at the end of the day,
they are all precious conversations.
I have spoken enough.
I shall speak more.
All who know me, know, that is a serious warning.
